2009 Porsche Club Motorsport Champion
2009 was Jez's first ever season as a 'pay as you drive' driver joining forces with with County Classics Racing Ltd, still with JCR team members Andy Lambert and Mike Barnes in attendance working on strategy and pit/driver communication.
Leaving the car preparation to a 'team' was a new unnerving experience but it proved to be a very successful combination.
The Class 2 Porsche 944S2 was regularly qualifying amongst the top Class 1 cars (with 30bhp + more than the Class 2 car) usually within the top 6 on the grid, even stunning the regulars by qualifying on the front row of the grid at Anglessey, Thruxton and Croft.
Two third places overall at Thruxton (fastest circuit in the UK) proved that it wasn't just the slower circuits where the combination was strong.
Jez and County Classics Racing Ltd proved an unbeatable combination winning all 15 races in class 2, setting 15 fastest laps and 15 pole positions, are perfect record for the 2009 season.
At the final races of the 2009 Porsche Club Championship on the Silverstone GP circuit in October once again showed the teams dominance as despite the pressure of he final rounds and with everything to lose, two more wins clinched the overall championship, scoring Jez a back to back championship victory, Overall Champion 2008 and 2009 (and Class 2 Champion)
As recognition for their supreme race car preparation County Classics Racing were awarded the Best Team of 2009 Trophy by Porsche Club GB Motorsport
